The Girls Inc. Difference
Girls Inc. of San Antonio offers pro-girl, evidence based programs that help girls lead healthy, educated, and independent lives. Some of the most popular programs include the organization’s:
Pro-Girl and Girls-Only
While the organization is not the only girl-focused program, Girls Inc. is the only girl-serving institution in the community that is trauma-informed and provides a holistic learning experience for girls outside of standard school hours. Girls Inc. knows that there is no other agency in the community that delivers research-based curriculum in a pro-girl and girls-only environment that is physically, socially, and emotionally safe to the extent that Girls Inc. is committed to.
Taught by Trained Facilitators
The program is delivered by trained facilitators rather than volunteers and focuses on gender equity and key issues as opposed to general youth development. Programs are supported by:
- A full-time staff of six
- A part-time staff of five
- A 25 member Board of Directors
- A 17 member board of advisors called Guardians
